Ordered the book yesterday. I can’t wait to have it in my hands.

Once Tomas started the "reading" with his fingers from left to right, then said do "2 lines" at a time, then do the figure 8 to read multiple lines, he said to practice. Well, my question is this, are you "reading" or just "looking/seeing" gobbles of words? Is "looking" the same as "reading," and if we continue to do this, will our "brains" begin to remember/comprehend/understand/recall what our eyes just "saw or read"? Wahi' Valleys

Advice to anyone who may be considering a speed reading program, Don’t “speed read” it’s a scam and treats reading like casual sex where you don’t comprehend anything. It’s just about showing you can get through your tbr pile as fast as possible. The trick is to build reading fluency. It’s where you read in phrases, without going too fast or too slow.

Combining words in that way...does it negatively affect your spelling?

You might know how to speed read but you sure don't now how to speak. I mean - you know - if you - read - without - a pause every - few words - people will - understand - you better. Now try MY SPEED READING COURSE: Open a book. Read a page. Now read the next page faster. Now read the next page faster than that. Then read the next page even faster. See? You're speed reading already with my foolproof method.

Visual audio books are good too. It reads it out like with subtitles.little less assessible on the go. It engaging and you get to see it the words and follow the book in general.

And interesting point of view in regard to "do some subtle subvocalization" Also, I found interesting how Hebrews write backwards, because the Old Testament is in the back of the Bible, and The New Testament is in the front, or is better to say that OT is at the left, and NT is the righte-ousness, is this some subliminal message? Since NT speaks of a "better testament". What do you think?

How to improve comprehension? I am able to retain quite less.....

I'm trying to find motivation for reading not for my interest but due to requirements such as in school... I know you make good points but couldn't you also get these from watching documentaries or news... Also even if you do read and the person you are dating also reads doesn't guarantee that you two read the same books, because there are tons of books out there, meanwhile people who go on dates usually watch movies and they can talk about that or things they have in common... while both can enjoy reading there are other factors that can determine whether the date will be successful such as physical attraction, sense of humor, charisma, etc.

I think it will work only with non fiction. You read non fiction for information. It won't work with fiction. You read fiction for pleasure so you want to read everything.

I have a minor learning disability and it takes me a month or two depending on thickness of books my whole life, and iv been in a reading sluMp for years ever since I was 16, now I’m 40 yr old I decided to take up reading late Christmas last yr, and now I can read 10 chapters a day, but I usually get heave eyed and drowsy or tired no matter how much I like a book and and I sleep to take the tiredness of me so I can read on and I realised even in defused mode I can still enjoy reading a book, so I stoped giving into my drowsy ness and now I can read 10 chapters a day depending on thickness and the amount of chapters in it, usually takes me 2 weeks to read any books and I’m still enjoying reading the whole books and every word in it, now I’m challenging myself and it might take me 6 months to read 20 chapters a day would allow me to read a book a week, maybe the more I’ll read the better in time I’ll become a faster reader, and after life stuff I need to do what has to be done and when I get back to work I’ll make time to read, and sometimes if I get up during the night I read that’s if I’m not half sleeping the more time you read the better, and yet I can listen to any UA-cam and audiobooks book in fasted playback speed on its menu and still understand every word on it, weird why can’t I do that with books.

I was thought to read every page and word in a book take time a digest it and one at a time, and I enjoy it better, I do that and I do so do speed readers answer questions on a book they read if you quote them? I’d love to speed read but I have the attention span of a dead corpse.
